      • Caring, adult friend who devotes time to a young person
      • Help students achieve their potential & discover their strengths
      • Not meant to replace parent, guardian, or teacher
      • Not a disciplinarian or decision maker for a child

      • Difficult to form bond with students b/c of inconsistent attendance

      • Participate in the recurring mentor call at 12 pm on Wednesday prior to LOT session
      • Confirm your attendance for upcoming LOT sessions
      • Arrive by 8:30 am at McCallum High School
      • Dress appropriately, preference for business casual or work casual
      • Encourage students to visit LOT website ( www.lotaustin.wetpaint.com )
      • Be aware of different student personality types & ensure participation from all students
      • Encourage students, engage students during downtime, and inquire about interests
