  • 1. WHAT KIND OF MEDIA INSTITUTION MIGHT DISTRIBUTE YOUR MEDIA PRODUCT AND Brown Kiera WHY?
  • 2. Production companyA production company essentiallyhelps to create the film- it assistsin the budgeting, scheduling, scripting, casting and more. Thecompany usually looks over thefilm from when it’s just an idea tothe completion. They areresponsible for finding a directorand the majority of acting talentrequired. My production logo isvery eye catching so thereforegrabs peoples attention. I havetypically used one image in themiddle of my logo so that itdoesn’t look overcrowded orunrealistic.
  • 3. Film distributionA film distributor is a company or individualresponsible for the marketing of a film. Thedistributor may set the release date of a film andthe method by which a film is to be exhibited ormade available for viewing. A distributor may dothis directly, if the distributor owns the theaters orfilm distribution networks, or through theatricalexhibitors and other sub-distributors. A limiteddistributor may deal only with particular products, such as DVDs or Blu-ray, or may act in a particularcountry or market.
  • 4. Momentum picturesThe film distribution companythat I would use for my filmwould be Momentum Pictures. Ihave chosen to this company inparticular because they havepreviously distributed otherfilms in the horror genre thathave made a lot of money. Some of the films that they havedistributed in the same genre asmy film are, Sinister, TheWoman in Black, House at theEnd of the Street andGrindhouse.
  • 5. FundingAll films are funded by differentways. My film will be funded bythe BFI. The BFI was founded in1933. They are a charitygoverned by a Royal Charter. They combine cultural, creativeand industrial roles, bringingtogether the BFI National Archiveand BFI Reuben Library, filmdistribution, exhibition at BFISouthbank and BFI IMAX,publishing and festivals. Theyaward Lottery funding to filmproduction, distribution, education, audience development
  • 6. Film TitlesI have added in titles to myfilm opening as it is a typicalgeneric convention of anygenre film. No matter whatgenre the film is you willdefinitely see titles in the filmopening. Film titles are thereto inform the audience aboutwho was involved in theproduction and distributionstages of that film. I havepresented the titles in my filmopening by using a blackbackground with red andwhite writing over the top.
  • 7. Influential filmsThere have been manydifferent films that haveinfluenced in the production ofmy horror films. One of themain films that played a majorrole in influencing my film is‘Orphan.’ I have used their ideaof using a young girl butchanging the fact she will bethe victim in my film not thevillain. I have also used theircostume ideas. I have dressedmy victim in similar clothes thegirl in Orphan would wear atnight time.
