Kids 4 Truth
Helping Children Become God-Focused Believers through Essential Christian Truth
Goals of this Presentation
To help inform you about what Kids 4 Truth is and does.
To give a brief history of why and how Kids 4 Truth was born.
To give glory to God!
Kids 4 Truth was Born Because of the Honest Answers to these Two Questions:
Are conservative, fundamental local churches doing a good job of grounding boys and girls in essential Christian truth?
What is my local church doing to ground our children in essential Christian teachings?
A Brief History of Kids 4 Truth
Two Pillars to the Kids 4 Truth Ministry:
The Clubs
The Website
We researched and found:
God’s thoughts about children’s ministry.
What trusted saints of old thought and did about children’s ministry.
Many children’s curriculums are moralistic / values driven.
Based upon our research we created and developed a useful program for local churches.
We feel: “Doctrine for kids is really, really, really GOOD.”
The Kids 4 TruthWebsite. . .
www.kids4truth.com
Launched in May 2000
Highlight was the “Creation Dynamation.”
Getting Back to the CLUBS
The Cornerstone of Kids 4 Truth is the Club program.
The website is designed to promote and complement the Clubs.
The Clubs are designed to teach 120 truths (doctrines) to boys and girls in a local church setting through 4 major Club program elements:
Lesson Time (large-group)
Singing Time (some clubs do Review Gaming or Activity Time)
Curriculum Workbook Time (small-group Memory & Recitation)
Award Time
The Philosophy of theKids 4 Truth Clubs
We are convinced that God is zealous that His people teach the next generation precise and beautiful doctrine about Him. (Deuteronomy 6; Psalm 78)
Simply put – we want children to know what Christians believe and why they believe it – and to love it!
Why? Psalms 78:7 -- That they might set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments.
One’s faith is only as good as the object of one’s faith.
“What we believe about God is the most important thing about us.” – Tozer
The Foundational CurriculumTwelve Doctrinal Themes
The foundation of all our curriculum workbooks, which we call Truthbooks, is 120 Questions and Answers.
The basis of every curriculum unit, no matter the age level, is one of the Top 120 Q&A.
Each one of the Twelve Doctrinal Themes contains ten foundational questions and answers. We refer to these as the “Top Ten.” The Top Ten comprise the 120 Foundational Questions and Answers.
Curriculum Progression
Every 2 session years the boys and girls will memorize and recite the Top 120 Questions and Answers.
As the children grow older and are able to mentally digest more knowledge, the answers deepen and expand.
The 120 questions stay the same but the answers gradually “get tougher!”
We desire to systematically build upon the rich doctrinal knowledge that children have learned in previous levels.
The Foundational Curriculum Summary
Every 2 session years (6 doctrinal themes are covered every session year) the boys and girls learn answers to the same questions primarily by memorizing the answers.
A few questions change over the years, but by and large they stay the same.
The answers, however, are developed deeper and deeper for every progressing level.
We systematically build upon the knowledge children have learned in previous levels.
Council of Trent – the Church of Rome: “The heretics have chiefly made use of catechisms to corrupt the minds of Christians.”
Thomas Watson – “To preach and not to catechize is to build without foundation.”
End Result
If 4-year-olds begin with the Kids 4 Truth curriculum, by the time that they graduate from the 6th grade, they will know with some measure of understanding 120 essential questions and answers of authentic Christian teachings, and will be able to provide supporting Bible verses.
No matter when the children begin the program, they will greatly benefit from the doctrinal knowledge that they gain. They will have a skeleton of truth on which to hang the muscles and skin of sermons and other Bible lessons.
K4T Clubs VISION
To inspire and equip churches to get good, solid doctrine into the forefront of their children’s ministries.
To continue to hone and polish both our content and methods so as to become the best available tool to help answer the question: “What are we doing as a local church to ground our boys and girls in Christian truth?”
As excited as we are about Kids 4 Truth, we are far more excited about the theology that drives it. We are much more interested in this church buying into a biblical philosophy than simply buying a program.
