RootsTech brings together the best in family history tools and technology to inspire attendees to discover and share your family’s connections and stories. RootsTech is a conference with a unique emphasis on helping individuals use the latest technology and acceler- ate their efforts to DISCOVER AND SHARE their family’s connections and history. Attendees will learn key skills from hands-on workshops and interactive presentations at the beginning, intermediate, and advanced levels. RootsTech Audience Attendees are passionate about connecting their family history to their own life stories and sharing those connections with their posterity. 64 percent are women. 36 percent are men. The average age is between 45 and 54. 49 states were represented at RootsTech 2013. About 68 percent of attendees were from the local Utah area. While most attendees are interested in finding connections to their ancestors, others are more focused on preserving and sharing their own personal stories. The conference offers classes and experiences for all ranges of knowledge, including beginning, intermediate, and advanced levels.

RootsTech 2013 Highlights • Over 6,700 people attended the conference in person—a 65 percent increase from 2012—with over 13,600 tuning in via live stream. • Daily keynote presentations by industry leaders and enthusiasts. • New Demo Theater in the Expo Hall. • 24 hands-on computer lab workshops. • 200+ breakout sessions. • Huge Expo Hall, with more than 200 booth spaces, including booths from industry leaders. • Developer Day schedule for those specifically involved in genealogy web and product development. • Special events at local attractions and venues with unique experiences to help inspire attendees. Genealogy for Youth In addition to the 6,700 adults attending the conference in person, over 1,500 teenagers attended special sessions and events specifically for youth. There were special youth activities, such as the Genealogy Merit Badge for Boy Scouts in the Expo Hall and a youth panel class that included adolescents telling stories about their own genealogy experiences. RootsTech Online Over 13,600 people joined the conference via live streaming on RootsTech.org and were able to view many keynote presentations and select breakout sessions. In 2014 RootsTech anticipates continued growth as in previous years, reaching tens of thousands of people around the globe! • Expo Hall size increase by 20 percent. • Keynote sessions seating increase by 15 percent. • Larger classroom sizes to hold up to 400 people in the breakout sessions. • Youth Day to continue efforts in inspiring the younger generation to start their own family history. • Developer Day will be increased and held on a separate day to help facilitate the specific needs of developers. • Remote RootsTech family history fairs will expand the conference reach in locations around the world. B E A N E X H I B I T O R AT R O O T S T E C H 2 0 1 4 Booth and Exhibit Hall Details The Salt Palace Convention Center is a modern facility located two blocks from the Family History Library in Salt Lake City, Utah. The Exhibit Hall will be in Halls A,B & C of that facility this year. Cost of each 10’x 10’booth: $295 Each booth reservation includes: • 10’x 10’booth • 8’high back drape • 3’high side drape • One 7”x 44”exhibitor ID sign • One 8’skirted table • Two folding chairs • One waste basket • One complimentary conference registration • Listing of your company’s name, web address, product description, and booth number in program materials. Modern Display will provide the exhibitor services, including electricity and furniture needs. The Salt Palace will provide Internet connections. Both are available for a fee. Exhibit Hall Move-in Date: Wednesday, February 5th, 2014, 8:30 a.m.–10:00 p.m. You are required to be set up by 10:00 p.m. on the 5th. Exhibit Hall Hours: Each morning of the conference, the keynote sessions have the potential to end before their actually scheduled time. All exhibitors must be in their respective booth(s) and ready for attendees 30 minutes prior to the printed schedule. Thursday, February 6th, 10:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m. (Must be open by 9:30 a.m.) Extended hours due to onsite opening event Friday, February 7th, 9:30 a.m.–6:00 p.m. (Must be open by 9:00 a.m.) Saturday, February 8th, 9:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m. (Must be open by 8:30 a.m.)

Exhibit Hall hours with no scheduled lecture sessions: Thursday 10:00 a.m.–11:00 a.m.; 12:00 p.m.–1:45 p.m.; 5:00 p.m.–7:30 p.m. Friday 12:00 p.m.–1:45 p.m.; 4:00 p.m.–6:00 p.m. Saturday 12:00 p.m.–1:45 p.m. Cancellations A refund of 50% will be available for cancellations before January 1st, 2014. No refund will be given after January 1st, 2014. Conference and Exhibitor Hall Access Those working in your booth will be provided with exhibitor badges to allow them early access to the exhibitor hall for set up and break down. Only the person with the conference registration, or those with a paid registra- tion, will be able to attend lectures. Remember, one free conference registration comes with each paid booth. Utah Sales Tax If a sponsor/exhibitor wishes to sell merchandise during the conference, that entity must register with the Utah State Tax Commission and agree to payment of state sales taxes. A representative from the Utah State Tax Com- mission will be onsite at the RootsTech Exhibit Hall on Thursday morning before the hall opens to help fill-out the necessary tax forms.
