Even if you failed the 3rd quarter, you can still receive credit for the 2nd semester if your average grade is 63%
  • 3. Warm-Up/Review: Today’s warm-up will focus on our current unit, quadratic equations & functions. Solve: −4𝑥2 + 23x + 6 What is your strategy? What method will you use to solve? Why? Or maybe you’re thinking, “What does it mean to solve?” Completing the square would be difficult here because of the b term. The better strategy would be to try to solve by factoring first.
  • 4. Warm-Up/Review:
  • 5. Warm-Up/Review: Find the vertex and y-intercept of: 2x – x2 = -3 (1, 4)
  • 6. Warm-Up/Review: Write the equation represented by the graph:
  • 7. Warm-Up/Review: Solve or write no solution 6x2 - 54 = 0 Solve by..........? Finding square roots One clue is ......what? Lack of a ‘b’ term x = + 3 x2 - 108 = 0 x = Must factor out all perfect squares next.
  • 8. Warm-Up/Review: Solve or write no solution
  • 9. Warm-Up/Review: After completing the square, complete the class work from Friday—Both front & back sides.
