General Chapter part 3: Mary, our guide - Presentation Transcript

    1. Mary, a sure guide: "I will Give you a Teacher"
    2. The mysterious message received by Don Bosco: “ I will give you a teacher”, is the essential educational path that will guide us decisively towards Jesus and helps us to grow in love.
    3. Mary has been given to us by Jesus as teacher of wisdom, goodness and charity in the art of educating.
    4. Don Bosco and Maria Domenica allowed her to take them by the hand in the often difficult search for adequate responses to the educational needs of young people.
    5. Mary, the masterpiece of God’s foreseeing love, carries within her, as no other creature does, the beauty and grace that shines on the face of God.
    6. Her presence accompanies the journey of the christian community from its beginnings in the Cenacle until the definitive coming of the Lord. The words of Jesus: “ This is your son”, “ This is your mother” (Jn 19:26-27) reach out from Calvary to every man and woman.
    7. In her mission as Our Help, she accompanies us in our commitment to walk in the ways of the Spirit and to help generate life in the hearts of young people who are entrusted to us.
    8. In the globalised and technological world in which we find ourselves, we learn from her to understand true humanism and to understand the importance of genuine relationships for the harmonious development of the person.
    9. We never find her alone in the Gospel. Mary is a figure who gathers and calls people together around her.
    10. The community: a prophecy of love
