    2. What is a wiki….?
        • a website that allows visitors to add, remove, edit and change content.

        • It also allows for linking among any number of pages and websites.

        • a website that allows visitors to add, remove, edit and change content.
        • It also allows for linking among any number of pages and websites.
        • It is easy to use and an effective tool for collaborative authoring.
    5. Visit http://wikispaces.com
      • Create an account
        • User name gagglename+gradyear (ex tsmith11)
        • Password choose 1 you can remember
        • Email: use gaggle address
      • DO NOT CREATE A SPACE…
    6. USING WIKISPACES
      • Page Name
      Discussion Tab Page Content Space History Nav Bar: Other pages within the wiki Each Wikispace has these elements
    7. Navigation Pane
      • The navigation on the left frame shows all of the pages in the space.
    8. To add your ideas Each page has a discussion tab Click on the discussion tab to add your thoughts.
    9. Discussing your work
      • Be sure your message includes a subject so people
      • know how to respond
    10. To add your ideas You can also join the space to add to the content. Once your membership is approved you can edit the content on any page in the wiki.
    11. Editing your page
      • INSERTING TEXT
      • Click on <Edit this page>
      • ONLY ONE PERSON can edit at a time. You may want to cut and paste your work from MS Word and save right away.
      • Use the discussion tab to communicate with your group.

      • INSERTING DOCUMENTS
      • If you have a word document that you want to add to your page…
      • Click on <Edit this page>
      • Click on the tree icon in the toolbar
      • . Click on <browse>, insert the filename and click on <upload file>.
      • Place the cursor where you want the file link to go. Then double-click on the file.
    13. Editing your page
      • INSERTING LINKS
      • If you have a website that you want to add to your page…
      • Click on <Edit this page>.
      • Highlight the text
      • Click on the globe icon
      • Choose external link
      • Paste the weblink from another source.
    14. Adding Pages to your wiki
      • Add pages to the wiki by clicking edit navigation and linking to the new page.
