  • Research Division Mission
    • The mission of the Division for Research at the University at Albany is to support the development and dissemination of new knowledge in a world-class research environment. The Division strives to create and advance intellectually stimulating and rewarding collaborations among faculty, students, research partners and clients.
  • Research Division 2007-2008 Goals
    • Increase total number of research applications in all units
    • Increase federal research awards in all units, and especially in the life sciences
    • Increase funding for research infrastructure
    • Assess the following research centers and institutes:
      • Center for Institutional Investment and Management
      • Center for Technology in Government
    • Create and nurture multiple opportunities for mentored student research
    • Improve science facility business management
    • Produce an annual research report, print and web versions
    • Enhance research development on research ethics and compliance
    • Continue to advance animal and human research compliance infrastructure through
        • Complete LACF program and facility preparation to formally apply for Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care (AAALAC) accreditation
        • Update and streamline Office of Research Compliance guidance and educational materials
    • Continue COEUS implementation and possibility of expanding modules
    • Provide technology development supports for faculty inventions
