Ethiopia presentation

  1. 1. Ethiopia
  2. 2. HistoryEthiopia has always been occupied ever since the beginning. It is unknown how ethiopia was colonized or how Ethiopia gained their independence. The following timeline on the next slide, is a brief following of how Addis Ababa became the capital of Ethiopia.
  3. 3. ProblemHalf of Ethiopia is desert and half is highland. The highlands are becoming desert and this is called Desertification. This is a problem because if all of ethiopia becomes desert, then there will be no land to plant on. Also it will become hotter and there will be less water.
  4. 4. SolutionsWe can prevent desertification by planting trees near the border of the desert or in the desert. The citizens of Ethiopia can do this by themselves. There are special rocks that can be used as fertilizer for trees that are being planted. There is a chance this may not work because the trees and plants may die in the desert. but if it works it is a very easy way to stop desertification. Another way to stop desertification is to build a giant wall, 6000 kilometers long, made out of sand, stuck together with bacteria. This can also be done only by Ethiopia. This would require a lot of people and a lot of bacteria, but if we find a lot of people & bacteria, this would be a better solution to
  5. 5. SolutionThe final solution of desertification that I have picked is to build the sand wall. This will work great as long as we can figure out minor details like politics, funding, and where to obtain “giant bacteria-filled balloons.” Even though this may cost a lot, Ethiopia can solve the problem of desertification by itself with this
