1. Ethics at Médecins du Monde

Abstract
Médecins du Monde (MDM) is a large non-governmental organization. It is international,
medical and humanitarian. Its objective is to provide care for the most vulnerable
populations. To achieve this noble task the organization benefits from the support of various
donors, private and institutional, who freely chose our association to be the vector of their
generosity and their values.
Between these donors and Médecins du Monde exists a real contract whose mutual respect
constitutes the base of our ethics. This is at least how we envisage it. It is up to our
association to take into account the objectives of effectiveness which the donors expect from
us and to remain faithful to our principles since it is them which guide their choice.
It is therefore with these two aspects, the expectation of the donors and all the values that
Médecins du Monde adopted since its creation 25 years ago, that we will to you to devote the
presentation.
