  • Be a face, not just a name (or logo). Take Frank at Comcast for example (http://twitter.com/comcastcares). Instead of having his logo on Twitter, he uses his own picture. It helps to foster a feeling that you are dealing with a real person.

  • It’s easy to see who’s just broadcasting out, whether it’s on Twitter, Facebook, or any other service. People are looking to engage with you, not just see you broadcast out.
  • John Cass (http://twitter.com/johncass) is a great example of doing it right. John is always working to engage in conversations, not just broadcast information.
  • Back to Frank at Comcast (http://twitter.com/comcastcares). He doesn’t sound like an official PR machine. He has open conversations and gets the customers to the right place.
  • Just be yourself. People want to communicate with people, not machines or corporate entities.
