  • In this life do we have a lack of Resources or resourcefulness?
  • We need to focus on what can be, what will be not WHAT IS. A thought becomes an idea or dream, becomes a meme (collective idea, or collective mind virus) it spreads following small world math 6 degrees through a population. Poverty is a Mind Virus a meme, a consciousness and a way of life. Any marketer worth his salt knows that 80% or so of the population react to a pain versus 20% being proactive. This means 80% of people want to loose weight versus 20% getting in shape. This means 80% of people want to Get out of debt now, versus 20% of people wanting to invest for the future. Well I am here to say, we can stop the pain. We can get out of debt now, and we can solve the problems facing us today. Innovation, that spark is the only way. Not the government, not an industry, that spark starts with us, right here and right now. http://www.aecom.com/What+We+Do/Design+and+Planning/stories/Asia:+Beyond+Growth?languagehoice=fr_CA&Go=Go&localeHidden=fr_CA&localeFlash=en_US
  • Start Before You’re Ready Don’t prepare. Begin. Remember, our enemy is not lack of preparation; it’s not the difficulty of the project or the state of the marketplace or the emptiness of our bank account. The enemy is Resistance. The enemy is our chattering brain, which, if we give it so much as a nanosecond, will start producing excuses, alibis, transparent self-justifications, and a million reasons why we can’t/shouldn’t/won’t do what we know we need to do. Start before you’re ready. Good things happen when we start before we’re ready. For one thing, we show huevos. Our blood heats up. Courage begets more courage. The gods, witnessing our boldness, look on in approval. –Stephen Pressfield Free kindle ebook here:http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004PGO25O/ref=as_li_ss_tl/?ie=UTF8&tag=thecompaadvan-20&linkCode=as2&camp=217145&creative=399349&creativeASIN=B004PGO25O
  • Whatever you can dream you can do, begin it, boldness has genius Power and Magic in it. -Goethe As a man thinketh so is he. As a Population believes so they are. A thought is a seed, that blooms into an idea or dream. That idea or dream becomes a meme and spreads through a population following small world math. We can shape our future, and this is why Philippines will be the Silicon Valley of Asia. We do not have a resource problem, we have idea and dreaming problem. When US President John F. Kennedy made the speech declaring that America would in ten years land on the moon most of the technology needed was not even invented yet. By declaring the goal and then reverse engineering the steps to get there you can paint the picture of your future.
  • Quit feeling sorry for yourself. Failure is part of the process. Accept that you will fail. Musashi an enlightened Samurai warrior, who after fighting and winning (he never lost one battle) he reached enlightenment, he wrote the book of 5 rings, he states, that you can never win, don’t even THINK about entering the fight, if you do not already accept you will die. Only once you accept your death, (failure) can you win. Self Pity and pity is one of the worst human emotions. Its victimhood. As a collective we need to quit allowing ourselves and others to make excuses for their life. All of life is a choice, when we take control of our thoughts, our choices, our lives, the universe of problems becomes one of possibility. Look at the failures in your life as strength not a painful scar but stronger skin.
  • We are only limited by our own conciousness
  • How you train is how you fight. If a Boxer has a team the builds him, trains him and lets him fight they also analyze the failures, they stop the fight (fail fast) to save the boxer, they give him weak fights and sparing to build his confidence = why don’t we have this team? Navy Seal Team Six is about 60 men, these men fire more rounds of ammunition than the entire US Marine Corp. I will repeat that…
  • We need more people telling us how it can be. Filipino entrepreneur Illac Diaz found a way to light homes using recycled soda liter bottles, water and bleach. Powerful 55 watt’ power for free using the Sun. http://extendyourself.org/my-shelter-foundation.html http://isanglitrongliwanag.org/
  • Purpose is a compass giving us direction. Passion is a bottle rocket… Purpose gives Passion But Love Comes First. Love is the fuel in the car that keeps it going
  • Sir Ken Robbinson = Schools kill our creativity. Our Establishments limit us. Our perception must be on what can be. Not what was, or what is.
  • Singularity: Because technology uses the technology invented to reach the next step, we get smarter exponentially, that means we have 100 years of evolution in only 25 years. Then the next 100 years of evolution will be in 14 or so years, then 7 years then 3 and a half. At this rate of exponential growth mathematically this translates into 20,000years of technology evolution in the 100 years that comprise the 21 st century. No Kidding. At this rate of technology evolution we have to dream bigger, and invent what will be, not what is.
  • Thomas Edison failed 20,000 times before he finally invented the lightbulb. BlueFin tuna release 10, million fertilized eggs yet only ten will make it to adulthood Maybe because we are mammals and we have a long gestation period and frail offspring, and spend so much of our life loving and nourishing our offspring the vast waste of nature seems opposite to our nature. But to succeed that is entirely what we must embrace, failure and randomness. Nature is wasteful. Evolution is random Birth is Painful In a world of chaos, only randomness wins. All organic networks are random…and within six degrees
  • June 4, 1989 Tiananmen Square Protests China was what many consider one of the first mass meme movements fueled by internet technologies and networked effects= Remember this is the same year 1989 that saw the fall of communist Europe Also : During the Tianamen Square demonstrations of mid-1989, for instance, the Chinese government attempted to ban foreign correspondents from reporting on observed incidents by cutting their access to telephone and broadcast facilities. American television viewers, however, were shown many incidents of reporters using their cellular telephones to call the United States via the hand communications satellite in stationary orbit over Asia. By the time the government reacted to this technology, the story and information had long since been disseminated to the world (Samovar & Porter, 1994:5). In this sense, advances in media technologies often play a vital role in readjusting the balance between established authorities on the one hand and the public and media on the other.
  • Nature is wastefull Nature is wastefull. Evolution is random Birth is Painful In a world of chaos, only randomness wins. a single dandelion may produce 2,000 seeds per year, indiscriminately firing them off into the sky at the slightest breeze, without any care for where the seeds are heading and whether they'll get an hospitable reception when they touch down. http://www.locusmag.com/Features/2008/05/cory-doctorow-think-like-dandelion.html
  • We can always get more money more resources, but we can never get more time. What you spend your time on is your life. In this universe we only get one shot- so do you want a life of mediocrity and a good job, or change the world? Do you want to sell sugared water for the rest of your life or do you want to change the world? http://lci.typepad.com/leaders_resourcing_leader/2008/06/selling-sugar-water-or-changing-the-world.html
  • Meme’s grow, from ideas, thought seeds, until they take on a life of their own. Like a Tsunami they rise out of the population, these idea or thought revolutions will and must run their course. You may stop an advancing army but you can not stop an idea whose time has come. The very survival of our species may depend on finding a way to organize our way out of situations in which there is a strong conflict between individual incentives and collective goods within our hierarchically organized societies. - Zeynep Tufekci is an assistant professor at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill at the School of Information and Library Science

  • I love finding out when the shift happens, what is that tipping point? What did it take for that tipping point to happen, then once it was breached, how did it spread. Malcomn Gladwell might have pissed off an entire community, he does have some points. The idea is not technology, the idea is the idea, technology enables it. The idea exists in the minds of men, it becomes a meme, moves through the collective unconsciousness, it must resonate with the population. Technology enables communication, enables our thoughts to be translated. I am, and you are one.
