  2. 2. Working OutI really enjoying workingout. It’s the perfect wayto start your day and it’sthe perfect way to endyour day too. I enjoy it somuch that I decided tolook up some interestingfacts about exercise andworking out. Here aremy top five and mostinteresting facts aboutexercise.
  3. 3. Fact #1: Exercise boosts metabolism, burns calories,and helps you lose weight.Exercise has so manybenefits. Since Istarted exercising, Ifeel that Ive lost somuch weight and Iveeven gotten moretoned. My metabolismis much more fasterand I still eat a goodamount.
  4. 4. Fact #2: Cardiovascular exercise is exercise that raises your heartrate and keeps it elevated for a period of time.Cardiovascular exerciseis so important to anyworkout. The mostpopular example is thetreadmill. I love to geton that treadmill everymorning. My heartstarts pumping faster asI run faster. I try tomaintain my heart rateby checking my pulsewhile working out.
  5. 5. Fact # 3: Bodybuilders emphasize more repetitions with lighter weightswhile strength athletes lift heavier weights for fewer repetitions.I myself consider myself astrength athlete. I tend todo squats and deadliftswhen I work out. As astrength athlete, theweights I lift are muchheavier however my repsare lower when comparedto a bodybuilder. We justhave different goals inmind. I want to focus onbuilding my strength.
  6. 6. Fact # 4: Free weights generally require muscles other than those in thetarget muscle group to stabilize the weight when you move it.I find machines tochallenge my musclesmore. I think to get thebest results you needto combine both theuse of machines andfree weights.
  7. 7. Fact # 5: The most dangerous weight training exerciseis the bench press.I cannot overemphasizethat safety is key whendoing a bench press.Grab a friend and makesure he or she spotsyou when you do abench press. Having afriend will ensure thatyou’re doing theexercise right andsafely.
