A royal wedding comparison

The Task
We see evidence that authors create their stories (texts) from things that they have seen in the real world.
Today you are going to compare a famous story to something that is happening in real-life by using comparative tools such as Venn Diagrams.

What is a Venn Diagram?
A Venn Diagram is a great way to look at the similarities and differences between two items (whether they are a books, events or a concept).

Comparing the Two…
Open up a new Powerpoint Slideshow
On the ‘Insert’ Tab, click on SmartArt
In the pop-up box, click on ‘relationship’ and then scroll down until you can see a ‘Basic Venn’ and select it.
Label one side Cinderella and the other Kate and Will.
Then using text boxes, add in what you think the similarities and differences are.

A Fairytale Wedding
Once you have completed your Venn answer the following on a separate slide (adding pictures at the end)…
Why do you think the story ‘Cinderella’ was created?
Is Kate and Will’s wedding a ‘Fairytale’ Wedding?
What do you see as the main theme running through both ‘Cinderella’ and Kate and Will’s Wedding?
