Were goodfellas, which is a true story, based on Henry Hill and his
thirty year connection with the Italian mob. Martin Scorsese used
many different styles of filming techniques such as freeze frames,
tracking shots, the techniques he used were really good different
camera angles and also different lighting a lot of visuals going on
in the characters mind. In the film freeze frames are used example
at first the audience does not know the purpose of the shot but
then you realize they represent all moments of Henry’s life.
Goodfellas also uses still shots, he makes good use of the lighting
low and high key are used, overall in this film still shots are used
the most because each of them represented a important moment
in Henry’s life they were the most powerful ones in the whole
movie.
Another key film that Scorsese worked on was Gangs of New York
made in 2002, this movie is about Vallon returning to America to
seek revenge against a gangster who murdered his father years
ago. In one of the scenes of the movie, they use a speed
technique were two men are speaking to each other and another
man hits him and he falls to the ground then theirs a freeze frame.

Another film martin Scorsese film Taxi Driver, this film was about a
mentally unstable Vietnam war veteran that suffered with
Insomnia he works as a nighttime taxi driver in New York city, were
it turns to violence and he attempts to save a teenage prostitute.
This film Taxi Driver was nominated for four academy awards,
which was best picture and it ranked as the 52nd greatest American
film. The film lasted for approximately 113 minutes and the budget
was 1.3 million. The film starred Robert De Niro, Jodie Foster,

camera will probe and track pan to share with us the audience
what his characters feel. There is lots of camerawork used in Taxi
Driver the shots are slow. Such as when Travis applies to be a taxi
driver he walks out of the garage and the camera pans from left to
right across the screen as the cabs drive right in the opposite
direction.
Later in the film Travis turns towards the camera and his voice
over reads a section from his diary, the camera shots are very
close at this point.
One of the most important scenes in taxi driver is the one that
shows Travis on a payphone in a hallway, as the conversation is
taking place the camera moves from Travis to a shot of an empty
hallway but you can still hear him speaking on the payphone, after
the call is ended there is a voice over of him talking about her as
he walks out.
