The Ministry of Tea has produced this amusing film in order to explain how to make tea.

Tea is the dried leaf of the tea bush. Ethel here picks the tea leaves while her children pack dried pieces of leaf into little paper bags. You cannot make tea from any other type vegetable matter, such as camomile plants, mint, sticks or mud. … Could I have the next slide, please?

You can only make tea with boiling water. You cannot make good tea with a coffee machine.

Firstly, boil water in a kettle until you can see the steam.

Ensure the cup is clean. Then put one teabag into the cup.

Now pour boiling water into the cup.

Leave the tea to stand for three minutes. A digital watch is a jolly neat idea at this stage.

Now remove the tea bag from the cup.

Add milk to the tea.

There. Delicious!
