Remember Me by Christopher Pike No The Last Vampire, But Still Amazing!SHE DIDNT UNDERSTAND THAT SHE WAS DEAD.W hen Shari Cooperawoke at home after being at her girlfriends birthday party, her family actedlike she wasnt there. They didnt hear a thing she said. They wouldnt evenlook at her. Then the call came from the hospital. Her father and brotherpaled. Her mother started to cry. Shari didnt know what was wrong. Notuntil she followed them to the hospital. There she found herself lying on acold slab in the morgue. The police said that it was suicide.Shari knew shehad been murdered. Making a vow to herself to find her killer, Shariembarks on the strangest of all criminal investigations: one in which shespies on her friends, and even enters their dreams -- where she comesface-to-face with a nightmare from beyond the grave. The Shadow -- athing more horrible than death itself -- is the key to Sharis death, and theonly thing that can stop her murderer from murdering again.First let me say that this book, in my opinion, is a 4 1/2 stars. This is by nomeans Christopher Pikes best book, which would be The Last Vampire, nodoubt.Christopher Pike has an incredible talent and precision for details. I lovethe way he can make the smallest of detail into a major part of the plot, anexcellent technique... especially in a murder mystery. This book had everything in a good mystery, and more, when consideringthe fact that the main character was a ghost trying to solve her ownmurder. As the book progresses, the storyline thickens and one cant help but beenthralled with it. I dont want to give anything away, but the endrevelations are shocking, and you wont believe who the killer is. You wontbe dissapointed! The diolouge and characters are more than extraordinary, and all hisbooks hold you captive and dont let go till the end, but I think there couldhave been some improvements.During the novel, I felt little danger for the lives of the characters inRemember Me, until the last 50 pages... where the story really takes off.Since they were ghosts, it wasnt like they could be harmed again.
Also, I was hoping for some more spooky interaction. Shari was a spirit, yet she couldnt do any of the cool things mosts ghosts are mythed to do,like fly, travel through doors and walls, and somehow communicate withthe living. It was almost as if we were reading about an ordinary girl.Although the story bagan a little slower than Im used to with most Pikenovels, I still loved it very much, and would reccommend it to people of allages.
