    That sentence does not require a comma, as the conjunction is not joining two independent clauses.

  2. Definition
    • Commas are punctuation marks normally used to mark a pause in a sentence.
  3. Comma Rule #1
    • Use a comma when listing nouns in a sentence.
    • Ex: Bob ate an apple , a sandwich , and chips for lunch.
    • Make sure you put a comma before the and.
  4. Comma Rule #2
    • Use a comma to separate parts of sequence within a sentence.
    • Ex: Bob made the sandwich , grew the apple , and bought the chips.
  5. Comma Rule #3
    • Use a comma before a conjunction like and, or, or but.
    • Ex: I would like an apple , and a banana please.
  6. Extra Help
