By carnal knowledge of them, and carnal copulation with them, and mixing bodies in like manner: this is the sin commonly called sodomy, from the inhabitants of Sodom, greatly addicted to it, for which their city was destroyed by fire: those that are guilty of this sin, are, by the apostle, called "abusers of themselves with mankind", it [is] abomination; it is so to YHWH, as the above instance of his vengeance shows, and ought to be abominable to men, as being not only contrary to the law of YHWH, but even contrary tonature itself, and what is never to be observed among brute creatures. In other words the land itself is so sick of the corruption that is within, ultimately the land itself vomits out. I wonder, Yahusha, said, when the Pharisees said, "Yahusha rebuke Your disciples", whenhe was making a triumphant entry. He said, "Ill tell you something, if these disciples were to all together hold their peace, these very rocks would cry out." I wonder how much the land really knows. YHWH said to Abel, or to Cain, "The blood of thy brother, the ground crieth out unto Me, where your brothers blood was spilled." Now YHWH says, "The landvomited out the inhabitants of the people." So sick were their practices. You see there is a point of moral decay that once the nation reaches that point, it can no longer exist. Its gone beyond the point of return and the nation can no longer exist; its gonna crumble, and fall. Let me tell you something. Great Britian and the USA are awfully close to that point. Now YHWH in speaking of these things said to the nation of YIsrael, "If you will obey My commandments and do them, then I will make you great. But if you forsakethem, then youre gonna be cursed in the city, cursed in the fields, cursed everywhere you go." YHWH said, "Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people." YHWHs cry against YIsrael and the reason why she had to fall was, "She had forsakenMy laws, they have forsaken My commandments, and theyve gone after their own ways." Im sure that as YHWH looks at the Great Britian and the United states today, His cry is much the same. "They have forsaken My ways, they have forsaken My laws, theyve forsaken My commandments."The land is about to vomit out its inhabitants because of the things that we have allowed, sitting back and doing nothing. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools Men must be justified by the righteousness of YHWH, because they have no righteousness of their own to justify them, they themselves are all unrighteous. This he proves both of the Gentiles and Jews. it is revealed in the word of YHWH, or rather, by the judgments which he inflicteth.from YHWH in heaven. Plagues and judgments spring not out of the dust,proceed not originally from second causes, much less do they come by chance. Against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men: the abstract is put for the concrete; he means unrighteous and ungodly men; but he chooseth this way of speaking, because YHWH, when he punisheth, aims at the sins of men; and would not punish their persons, but for their sins. By ungodliness, understand sins against the first table, which are mentioned Rom 1:21,23: by unrighteousness, sins against the second, of which there is mention at large, from Rom 1:26 to the end of the chapter. Who hold the truth in unrighteousness: by truth, understand all that light which is left in man since the fall. There are in all men some common notions of YHWH, his nature and will; some common principles also of equityand charity towards men, which nature itself teacheth, and upon which the consciences ofthe Gentiles did accuse or excuse them. These natural notions concerning YHWH and their neighbour they did not obey and follow, but wickedly suppressed them.   5. 5. the word here used by the apostle is ηττημα, which signifieth rather an impotency or weakness of mind and affections, a defect or diminution from perfection, than anyscandalous sin. Going to law with brethren (though lawful in itself) may be made unlawfulby circumstances: When it is before judges that are unbelievers, so as men’s going to law before them tends to the reproach of religion, the credit and reputation of the gospel ought to be dearer to us than any little secular concern. This was the case in this place.When it is for little matters, such as a coat or a cloak. It is against the law of charity to do another a great wrong to recover to ourselves a little that is our right. When we cannot do it without wrath, anger, impatience, covetousness, or desire of revenge. It is a thing possible to go to law without sin, but what very few do, through that corruption which cleaveth to corrupt nature. And if children, then heirs; heirs of Elohim ( ‫ ,)אלהים‬and joint-heirs with Moshiach; if so be that we suffer with [him], that we may be also glorified together.There are here ten classes of transgressors which the apostle excludes from the kingdomof YHWH; and any man who is guilty of any one of the evils mentioned above is therebyexcluded from this kingdom, whether it imply the assembly of Elohim here below, or the state of glory hereafter. Rom 1:26-27. For this cause Elohim ( ‫ )אלהים‬gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men,leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. And even as they did not like to retain Elohim ( ‫ )אלהים‬in [their] knowledge, Elohim ( ‫ )אלהים‬gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; This begins a passage where Paul describes the sin and corruption of the pagan worldwith an amazing directness - so direct that Spurgeon thought this passage unfit for publicreading. "This first chapter of the Epistle to the Romans is a dreadful portion of the Wordof YHWH. I should hardly like to read it all through aloud; it is not intended to be so used. Read it at home, and be startled at the awful vices of the Gentile world." (Spurgeon) Paul uses homosexuality - both female and male - as an example of YHWH giving them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves.Some say that the Bible nowhere condemns lesbian homosexuality, but the likewise of

For this cause Elohim ( ‫ )אלהים‬gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: Paul doesnt even use the normal words for men and women here; he uses the words for male and female, using categories that describe sexuality outside of human terms, because the type of sexual sin he describes is outside of human dignity. Paul categorizes the whole section under the idea of vile passions - unhealthy, unholy. Nevertheless, Paullived in a culture that openly approved of homosexuality. Paul didnt write this to a culturethat agreed with him. Paul wrote to a culture where homosexuality was accepted as a part of life for both men and women. For some 200 years, men who openly practiced homosexuality, often with young boys, ruled the Roman Empire. At times, the Roman Empire specifically taxed approved homosexual prostitution and gave boy prostitutes a legal holiday. Legal marriage between same gender couples was recognized, and even some of the emperors married other men. At the very time Paul was writing, Nero was emperor. He took a boy named Sporus and had him castrated, then married him (with a full ceremony), brought him to the palace with a great procession, and made the boy his "wife." Later, Nero lived with another man, and Nero was the "wife." Homosexual practice truly is an abomination in our present culture. Statistics tell us that on average 43% of homosexuals say that they have had 500 or more sexual partners in their lifetime, and only 1% of homosexuals say they have had four or less sexual partners in their lifetime. 77% of homosexuals say they have met sexual partners in a city park; 62% in a homosexual bar, 61% in a theater, 31% in a public restroom. Only 28% of homosexuals said that they had known their partners for at least a week before participating in homosexual sex.. Homosexuals often seem to specialize in anonymous sex with no emotional commitment. At one time, London AIDS clinics defined a woman as promiscuous if she had more than six partners in her lifetime. They gave up trying to apply a workable definition to male homosexuals when it became clear that they saw almost no homosexual men who had less than six sexual partners a year Receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due: Paul speaks of a penalty for homosexual conduct; Homosexuality has within itself a penalty. This speaks of the self- destructive nature of sin; it often carries within itself its own penalty. Sometimes it is the penalty of disease, which is the consequence of violating natures order.Sometimes it is the penalty of rebellion, resulting in spiritual emptiness and all its ramifications. The term"gay" is wishful thinking; it sends a message that there is something essentially happy and carefree about the homosexual lifestyle - which there is not. Again, this "freedom" todisobey should be seen as YHWHs judgment, not His kindness; those who engage in such

As further judgment, YHWH gives man over to a debased mind, so that things that are disgraceful and sickening are readily accepted and approved.The word debased (or, reprobate in the KJV) meant originally that which has not stood the test. It was used of coins that were substandardand therefore rejected. The idea is that since man did not "approve" to know YHWH, men came to have an "unapproved" mind."The human race put YHWH to the test for the purpose of approving Him should He meet the specifications which it laid down for aYHWH who would be to its liking, and finding that He did not meet those specifications, it refused to approve Him as the YHWH to be worshipped, or have Him in its knowledge."(Wuest) A debased mind: Our rebellion against YHWH is not only displayed in our actions, but in our thinking. We are genuinely "spiritually insane" in our rebellion against YHWH. 1st-Timotheos 1:10For immoral men, for them that defile themselves with shochvim es zachar (homosexuals, sodomite), for kidnappers, for shakranim (liars), for nishbaim lasheker (perjurers, false swearer), and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound teaching; sinners against the seventh commandment. men-stealers—that is, slave dealers. The most heinous offense against the eighth commandment. No stealing of a mans goods can equal in atrocity the stealing of a mans liberty. Slavery is not directly assailed in the New Testament to have done so would have been torevolutionize violently the existing order of things. But believers teaches principles sure toundermine, and at last overthrow it, wherever believers has had its natural development . offenders against the ninth commandment. liars . . . perjured if there be any other thing— answering to the tenth commandment in its widest aspect. He does not particularly specify it because his object is to bring out the grosser forms of transgression; whereas the tenth is deeply spiritual, so much so indeed, that it was by it that the sense of sin, in its subtlest form of "lust," Paul tells us, was brought home to hisown conscience. Thus, Paul argues, these would-be teachers of the law, while boasting of a higher perfection through it, really bring themselves down from the Gospel elevation to the level of the grossly "lawless," for whom, not for Gospel believers, the law was designed. And in actual practice the greatest sticklers for the law as the means of moralperfection, as in this case, are those ultimately liable to fall utterly from the morality of the law. Gospel grace is the only true means of sanctification as well as of justification. They both have their roots in the knowledge of YHWH, of which they are the fruit Jer_22:16He judged the cause of the poor and needy; then [it was] well [with him: was] not this to know me? saith YHWH ( ‫.)יהוה‬ Isa 11:9 They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my set-apart mountain: for ha eretz shall be full of the daat (knowledge) YHWH ( ‫ ,)יהוה‬as the mayim cover the sea. for the knowledge of YHWH is not merely “an acquaintance with His nature and will”(Hitzig), but knowledge of the love, faithfulness, and compassion of YHWH, resting upon the experience of the heart. Put on therefore, as the elect of Elohim, set-apart and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; Where this is wanting, injustice gains the upper hand.
