TRANSPARENTSY If you want to tackle this (go to stress slide) then you must first Assure your team that you are CLEAR on the circumstances. “ Elliott Story” OPEN THE VENT Be open about the situation at hand. Address out loud the hiring freeze, raise freeze, loss of business, etc. and give them an avenue to vent their frustration. It’s a lot better than allowing rumors and gossip to run ramped in your organization. Allow them to vent their frustration ACKNOWLEDGE CONCERNS are valid. Have empathy and let them know that they are not alone in their frustration, that the situation is affecting everyone from the top down. ASSURE DUE DILLIGENCE Assure them you are working to make it the best you can. And while there is not an immediate fix to the problem, it is being taken seriously and is a work in constant progress. SUPPORT YOUR ORGANIZATION Stick to your guns. You know that the organization is doing what it has to stay afloat. They must understand that even with the stresses, they still have a job and a company that supports them.
