    • Kathleen Cummings returns from a year of teaching on a Fulbright Scholarship at the Colegio San Antonio Marianistas (SAM).

    • She submits a proposal to bring EMS students to Peru for a cultural trip.

    • All 8 th Grade Spanish students are encouraged to apply.
  • 5. September 2009
    • Working with Giovana Yaranga (Spanish Teacher at BHS), she develops the trip itinerary.

    • April 26 Travel to Nazca
    • April 27 Nazca Lines, Return to Lima, Departure to US
    • April 28 Arrival at BTV mid-day
    • Trip Cost: $2,400
    • Deposit of $1,000 by October 19
    • 2nd Payment of $500 by November 20
    • 3rd Payment of $500 by January 15
    • 4th Payment of $400 by March 10

    • Six students commit to traveling to Peru.

    Students met on a weekly basis to prepare for the trip.
