  • 2. BELIEVE IN YOURSELF <ul><li>Think about the talents and skills you have. </li></ul><ul><li>Set goals you believe you can accomplish. </li></ul><ul><li>Tell yourself, “I can do this!” </li></ul>
  • 3. BE ORGANIZED <ul><li>Use your agenda every day. </li></ul><ul><li>Use folders for your work. </li></ul><ul><li>Know a classmate’s # or teacher’s website. </li></ul><ul><li>Keep your locker and backpack neat. </li></ul><ul><li>Organize before you go to bed. </li></ul>
  • 4. MANAGE YOUR TIME WELL <ul><li>Use your class time well. Start homework if your teacher allows it. </li></ul><ul><li>Plan a time and place to study each day. </li></ul><ul><li>Estimate the time for each of your assignments and do the longest first. </li></ul>
  • 5. DO YOUR BEST IN THE CLASSROOM <ul><li>Know your teachers and their rules. </li></ul><ul><li>Come to class prepared every day. </li></ul><ul><li>Sit where you will pay attention. </li></ul><ul><li>Always do your homework. </li></ul><ul><li>Participate in class. </li></ul><ul><li>Be a good group member. </li></ul>

TAKE GOOD NOTES <ul><li>Be an active listener. </li></ul><ul><li>Listen for clues in your teacher’s voice. </li></ul><ul><li>Take notes that are easy to read. </li></ul><ul><li>Go over your notes from the day EACH night. </li></ul><ul><li>Get a copy of the class notes if you are absent. </li></ul>
  • 7. STUDY SMART <ul><li>Find a good place to study. </li></ul><ul><li>Get started, don’t put it off until later. </li></ul><ul><li>Know your learning style. </li></ul><ul><li>Organize your study time. </li></ul><ul><li>Drink WATER while you study. </li></ul>
  • 8. GET HELP WHEN YOU NEED IT <ul><li>Talk to your teacher about it. </li></ul><ul><li>Make an appointment with the counselor. </li></ul><ul><li>Don’t be afraid to talk to your principal. </li></ul><ul><li>Talk to your parents when you get home. </li></ul><ul><li>Don’t wait, talk to SOMEONE! </li></ul>
