    • 4. The pyramid versus spider network 27.6.2011 INSPIRE 2011
    • 5. Society and SDI
      • Spatial Data Infrastructure is usually taken as sharing data between public organizations.
      • This situation is usually described as pyramid, where higher level get collect data from lower level
      • This solution is very weak and makes big concerns about failures of whole system
      • Cross boarder regions need direct communication and data sharing
      27.6.2011 INSPIRE 2011
    • 6. Example
      • Cross boarder tourist and transport information system NISA GO Grenze
      • Integration of public and voluntary data cross boarder
      27.6.2011 INSPIRE 2011
    • 7. Example NISA GO Grenze 27.6.2011 INSPIRE 2011
    • 8. Example
      • Similar examples could be in environment protection, cross boarder risk management, etc
      • Needs to integrate cross boarder public and private data and use advantage of voluntary initiatives
      • Spatial data has to be integrate on the base of regions, thematic groups (geologist, planners, environmental scientists, etc)
      27.6.2011 INSPIRE 2011
    • 9. 4 th way philosophy
      • Number of interconnected thematic or regional servers, some of them are available for training (free of charge) or for community data sharing
      • INSPIRE and GEOSS compatible solution, based mainly on Open Source solution
      • Interconnection of public and private infrastructures
      • Support for voluntary initiatives
      27.6.2011 INSPIRE 2011
    • 10. Public-private cooperation
      • SDI is important not only for public decision, but it brings benefits for economical activities and also for communities
      • Current philosophy offers usage of 3 different portal solutions
        • Public
        • Commercial
        • Communitarian
      • We need to move over this assumption.
      27.6.2011 INSPIRE 2011
    • 11. 4 th way concept 27.6.2011 INSPIRE 2011
    • 12. 4 important topics for 4 th way
      • To move from applications oriented solution to service oriented architecture (SOA)
      • To build network of interconnected nodes, where every node could be server (supplier) of information or client (receiver)
      • Overcome classical portal paradigm, where portals are final products
      • To be able to build new generation of an application on the base of SDI services
      27.6.2011 INSPIRE 2011
    • 13. Our support for services
      • On our portals we are now making publicly available different data services of European organization like EEA (Urban Atlas, Natura 2000, CLC is under preparation)
      • We are making available other data sources like OSM etc.
      27.6.2011 INSPIRE 2011
    • 14. Our support for services 27.6.2011 INSPIRE 2011
    • 15. Geoportal4everybody
      • The principle of the Geoportal4everybody allows to build a "spidernet" infrastructure supporting interconnection of any two portals and effective exchange of information.
      • Geoportal4everybody offers possibility of publishing user derived data on a community portal, but also to share information using metadata catalogues with other portals. It also offers connection with public portal and reuse of information on public portal.
      27.6.2011 INSPIRE 2011
    • 16. Geoportal4everybody components
      • Content Management system SimpleCMS
      • Metadata management Micka
      • View services Hslayers
      • Data and services management Geohosting
      27.6.2011 INSPIRE 2011
    • 17. GeoPortal versions
      • MapViewer with integrated Catalogue Clients supporting displaying maps, forming composition and simple discovery of WMC, WFS, WCS and WMC in selected catalogue. Application is independent on concrete system of spatial data management and concrete catalogue server and could be integrate with any catalogue server using CSW 2.0.2 standards
      27.6.2011 INSPIRE 2011 MapViewer
    • 18. MapViewer 27.6.2011 INSPIRE 2011
    • 19. GeoPortal versions
      • Geoportal light is composed from MapViewer and full catalogue client supporting discovery of metadata in multiple catalogues. Application is independent on concrete system of spatial data management and concrete catalogue server and could be integrate with any catalogue server using CSW 2.0.2 standards
      27.6.2011 INSPIRE 2011
    • 20. Geoportal light 27.6.2011 INSPIRE 2011
    • 21. GeoPortal versions
      • Geoportal basic include previous functionality and it is integrated with catalogue server Micka. It is independent on concrete system for spatial data management.

    • 22. Geoportal basic 27.6.2011 INSPIRE 2011
    • 23. GeoPortal versions
      • Geoportal full integrate Geoportal basic with Geohosting. Geoportal full is complete system for managing geospatial data and metadata

    • 24. Geoportal full 27.6.2011 INSPIRE 2011
    • 25. Geoportal4INSPIRE
      • Geoportal4INSPIRE is integration of Geoportal4everybody with Liferay platform and with extension of basic functionality about other INSPIRE services, mainly INSPIRE monitoring . Geoportal4INSPIRE is developed together with IBM Czech Republic It is powerful modular solution, which could support INSPIRE implementation.

    • 26. Geoportal4INSPIRE
      • Integration of GeoPortal components with Liferay using iframe and portlets technologies allows to form new generation of Web portals
      • Using Liferay portlets is possible easy changing of portals and adding new functionality
      • Curently are components of Geoportal4INSPIRE used for Czech National INSPIRE portal
