LEADERSHIP SERIES TO EDUCATE AREA BUSSINESSES
KENDALLVILLE, Ind. – The Kendallville Area Chamber of Commerce will
launch their Chamber Academy leadership education series on March 10, 2010,
Executive Director Anita Shepherd announced today.
The Chamber Academy series is a continuing education series focused on
expanding business knowledge and leadership in area businesses. The sessions will
cover topics including business plan development, marketing, team development and
communication strategies. Each session will provide specific information on subject
matter that is pertinent to any business for optimal growth. “There is always a need to
learn new information or expand existing knowledge, these courses will focus on
important topics that are necessary to improve growth and take advantage of business
opportunities in today’s environment.” Shepherd said.
There will be a Chamber Academy Opening Retreat on March 10th, 8 a.m. to
1 p.m. which will provide a personality/leadership style assessment and encourage
creative thinking. The first official class, March 17, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., will focus on
business plan overview. There will be a total of seven classes over an eight month
period. All sessions will be held at the Kendallville Public Library and are facilitated by
Freedom Academy. Tuition for individual sessions is $29 for members and $39 for non-
members. Members can enroll in the full academy and attend all sessions for $186.
