Contains a thesis statement, which…
supplies the main idea
rewords the question including major nouns
appears in the first or second sentence
may come after any definition needed for clarity
may include TAG (title, author, genre – if appropriate)
does not begin with pronouns
The One-Idea Paragraph…
contains sentences ( facts !) that support the main idea.
ends with a clincher sentence, one that sums up the overall message of the paragraph (does not merely repeat the main idea). It analyzes!
does not have a set number of sentences, but an average would be 4-8

What makes Good Sentence Flow?
1. Put events in proper order
chronological order
order of importance
order of how facts are revealed
2. Do not repeat words unnecessarily
3. Combine short sentences together
conjunctions, adjs, prep phrases, intro words, etc.
4. Use transitions between sentences
(examples: also, because of…, although, Not only was…., unlike…, etc.)
