Characters ◦Sherlock Holmes ◦Dr. Watson ◦ Dr. Mortimer ◦Sir Henry ◦Barrymore-the butler ◦L.L.-unknown woman ◦Selden-Barrymore’s brother-in-law ◦the stranger-unknown person
Main Idea (“This is written from Watson’s diary.) ◦ Barrymore and Sir Henery are arguing about how Sir Henery is trying to hunt down Selden even though Barrymore told him the secrets about Selden, how he broke out of jail and how he is still on the moor. Berrymore gets the benefit of the argument and they decide not to chase his brother-in-law. Then they get on the topic of Charles’s death. Barrymore tells about how the reason Charles was out the night he died was because he was suppose to meet a woman with the initials L.L. Barrymore knows this because his wife found a piece of a letter in Sir Charles's fire place. This was a vital piece of information. Watson is going to focus on catching the tall, thin stranger “dogging” them. while on his way home, he crosses paths with Mortimer and asked if he knew any one with the initials L.L. Mortimer mentions a girl named Laura Lyons who Sir Charles had helped. That is all they talk about that.
Clues ◦Watson has heard the “crying upon the moor” 2 times. ◦There was a piece of a letter in Sir Charles's fire place that had the initials L.L. on it.
My Thoughts I do not think that there is such thing as the devil dog, but I do think that there is a black hound.
