LDNC Overview and Installation Technology Overview • Patent pending #13,918,350 (as of June 14, 2013) • The only 100% lossless data compression technology available for highly compressed files (e.g., JPEG2000, TAR, etc.) • Provides multi-pass capability to achieve previously unattained levels of lossless compression of highly compressed files ranging from 31% (1st pass) to 68% (3rd pass) space savings • 3rd party evaluation completed in February 2013 by Dr. Sunil Kumar (JPEG2000 standards team), which validated the effectiveness of LDNC (Note: LDNC algorithm has since been enhanced to achieve significantly higher compression ratios) Installation and Operation • LDNC software is installed on a location that can access the storage endpoint • LDNC algorithm applied against data-at-rest; multiple passes can be utilized to increase compression ratio LDNC has demonstrated compression ratios greater than 3:1 on highly compressed formats i.e. J2K and TAR 12/31/2013 6
