  • Leonardo Wilhelm DiCaprio was born in Los Angeles of California on November 11 1974. He is an American actor and film producer.  His parents are Irmelin and George DiCaprio. He is also a close friend of Tobey Maguire.  Leonardo started his career on television with advertising and after he played on Soap Opera «Santa Barbara» and the sitcom «Growing Pains». 
  • The first film debut come with the comedy sci-fi horror film “Critters 3”  After this film played on: This Boy’s Life (1993), What’s Eating Gilbert Grape (1993), The Basketball Diaries (1995), Marvin’s Room (1996), Romeo+Juliet (1996).  On 1997 came the big success. Leonardo DiCaprio starred in James's Cameron movie TITANIC alongside Kate Winslet. DiCaprio became super star.  He has been nominated for 3 Academy Awards. 
  • Cast as twenty-years-old Jack Dawson a penniless Wisconsin man who wins 2 tickets for the third class of RMS TITANIC. Leonardo DiCaprio initially refused to portray the character but was eventually encouraged to pursue the role by James Cameron who strongly believed in his acting ability. The film went on to become the highest grossing film ( it was surpassed in 2010 by Cameron’s directional follow-up, Avatar), grossing more than US$ 1.843 million.
  • Leo transformated into a commercial movie superstar. He obtained teenage and young women fans. Leo said in 2000: “I have no connection with me during that whole TITANIC phenomenon and what my face become around the world…I’ll never reach the state of popularity again, and I don’t expect to. It isn’t something I am going to to try to achieve either”.
