Implemented quality system needs to be evaluated and measured by only means that top management understands and pays attention to: hard cash, which in this case is the cost of quality (COQ) or more precisely – the price of non-conformance. Implementing the COQ project is one of the most difficult and critical undertakings in the quality. Main obstacles arise in determining what should be measured and where. Usually objective and subjective obstacles arise before the tracking begins. Top management’s attitude and support are crucial for successful implementation of systematic COQ tracking.
