become unsafe and unaffordable;

negative health consequences for women;
• Kenyan abortion law and practice violate
standards set by international treaties and
treaty bodies.

THE FUTURE
• The ‘new’ advocacy tool: voice of the
survivors of backstreet abortions;
• The rejuvenated voice of the opposition;
