    • About OS X Mountain Lion One of the Worlds advanced desktop operating system. OS X Mountain Lion (version 10.8) is the ninth major release of OS X, Apple Inc.s. OS X Mountain Lion was officially released on July 25, 2012. It gains features from iOS and apart from that it supports 200 plus new features.
    • Features Accessibility  Access from anywhere.  It supports 14 new braille displays.  You can now drag items using VoiceOver.  Support for press and hold buttons.
    •  Notification Center  Notification Center consolidates notifications from Messages, Calendar, Mail, Reminders, and third- party apps in one convenient place.  You can click Menu bar icon to view the notification.  The user can access the center anytime, even when you’re using a full-screen app.  Share your thoughts to Twitter right from Notification Center.  Update your facebook status message in Notification Center.
    •  iCloud  Easy to setup.  The iCloud Document Library is a convenient way to access your iCloud.  Sign in once with your Apple ID to set up Mail, Contacts, Calendar, Messages, FaceTime, Game Center, Safari, Reminders, iTunes, the Mac App Store, and Notes.  Sort options are also provided.  You can organise folders by just drag and drop.
    •  AirPlay Mirroring  Send what’s on your Mac screen to an HDTV wirelessly with Apple TV.  Automatic detects an Apple TV on the same network.  Provides Audio support.  Delivers High performance.  Seamless integration with iTunes. (eg: When you play movies in iTunes, AirPlay Mirroring will automatically switch to full screen mode).
    •  Finder  Share files in messages or mail using share button.  Easy encryption. You can encrypt even drives from the finder.  Customizable sidebar.
    •  Dictation  Shortcut keys to enable Dictation(fn key twice).  Talk anywhere you need to type.  Works with text fields in any OS X app. No need of any third party software.  Works with Contacts.  Dictation supports English (U.S., UK, and Australia), French, German, and Japanese.
    •  Social Networks:(Facebook and Twitter)  Single sign-on. Even for your apps.  When you are signed in fb/twitter notifications can be viewed, modified and updated from notification center.  Lets your Facebook/Twitter friends know where you are by location indicator.  Facebook/Twitter friends into Contacts.  You can even sign-in to multiple accounts.
    •  Notes  Your notes stay up to date on all your devices(iPad,iPhone and Mac) using iCloud.  Stay organized by arranging notes in folders.  Search field to quickly find the note.  Notes supports links.  Drag a photo or an attachment into a note to include.  Click the full-screen button to enable full screen mode.
    •  Messages  The elegant new design of Messages makes it easy to follow conversations.  Autocomplete names.  You can send iMessages to a phone number or to an email address associated with an Apple ID.  Send encrypted messaging for privacy.  Send large attachments upto 100mb, such as high-quality photos, full HD video or documents using iMessage.
    •  Safari  Smart search field for both search terms and web links.  Offline Reading List.  Password AutoFill.  If you forget a saved password, you can find it in the new Passwords pane in Safari.  Do Not Track for privart browsing.  Safari speeds up JavaScript performance by up to 6 percent compared with Safari 5.1.
    •  Mac App Store  OS X software updates are available through app store.  Mac App Store notifies when updates are available.  Share button to share on social networks.  Full screen can also be enabled.  Automatic download of app updates.
    •  Reminders  Pushed to all devices using iCloud.  Upcoming reminders appear in Notification Center.  Mark as complete when the task is accomplished.  Click a date in the calendar to see all the reminders due that day.  The search field makes it easy to find a specific reminder.  Set priority.
    • Dropped and changed features iChat — replaced by Messages and FaceTime. MobileMe — replaced entirely by iCloud. RSS support in Mail and Safari has been removed. Software Update — has been unified into the Mac App Store. Web Sharing — option removed from System Preferences. Apache is still included with the operating system and can be enabled using third-party software. Display Preference Menu — replaced by AirPlay icon.
    • Renamed applications Address Book renamed "Contacts". iCal renamed "Calendar".
