  1. 1. Sexting<br />'Sexting' is a relatively new term for sending or receiving text messages or images of a sexual nature via cell phone.<br />
  2. 2. National Statistics <br />According to <br />http://www.mguhlin.org/2009/12/graphs-sexting.html about 38 percent of teens are affected by sending “sexting” messages and about 48 are affected by receiving “sexting” messages.<br />
  3. 3. Female Results: <br />50% of the female students surveyed at west that they have sexted.<br />50% of the female student surveyed at west that they have not sexted.<br />85% of the female students said they know someone who sexts.<br />32% of females said they have sexted there boyfriend.<br />30% of females said they sexted someone they wanted to hook up with.<br />38% of females said they have never sexted.<br />

Female Results Continued: <br />44% said they have been shown pictures that were not ment for them. <br />61% said that sextng was not a big deal.<br />68% said that they know someone who was embarrassed because of sexting.<br />89% said that they should not be charged if caught receiving a sext.<br />96% said they do not feel guilty after sending a sext.<br />63% said that they do not think differently of their friends because they sext.<br />
  5. 5. Male Results: <br />73% said that they sext.<br />91% said they know someone who does sext.<br />43% said they sexted their girlfriend.<br />32% said they have sexted someone they wanted to hook up with.<br />21% said they never sexted before.<br />

Male Result Continued: <br />82% said they have been shown a sext that was not originally ment for them.<br />57% said that sexting was not a big deal.<br />41% said they know someone who was embarrassed by sexting.<br />91% said that people should not be charged for sexting.<br />95% said that they do not think differently of their friends that sext.<br />
  7. 7. Our Response to Sexting: <br />People don’t understand the issue with sexting today. Sexting cause ruin someone’s life and career. Sexting is a rapidly increasing problem for teens in America.<br />

Conclusion: <br />54% of the teenagers surveyed at west said they have sexted at least once. <br />46% of the teenagers surveyed at west said they have never sexted before.<br />59% said that sexting is not a big deal.<br />41% think that sexting is a big deal.<br />Our results show that most kids at west don’t see the real problem with sexting but in a reality it’s a major problem with teens today.<br />
