EAGE/AAPG MIDDLE EAST Tight gas reservoirs WORKSHOP: An Integrated E&P Perspective 30 October – 2 November 2011 Dubai, UAEWorkshop OverviewTight gas reservoirs of the Middle East have increasingly become targets for exploration assessmentsduring the last few years as they possess potential of substantial gas resources. This has necessitated anE&P initiative for a series of workshops to address all aspects of the future of tight gas in the Middle East.Two successful workshops were conducted in 2009 and 2010, and this workshop of 2011 will illuminatethe continuity of the success.The 3rd workshop will address all E&P aspects of the tight gas reservoirs and, but will concentrate more onthe area of integration between G&G and engineering. A new addition to this year’s workshop is theeconomics of tight gas resources in the Middle East. The workshop will include a mixture of presentationsand group discussions with ample time for interactions amongst the participants. With attendees fromNorth America, Europe, and East Asia, the workshop is expected to be a great opportunity for exchangingexperience and knowledge as well as for having fruitful discussions. The workshop is augmented with anoptional 3-day field trip to the Paleozoic outcrops of central Arabia to touch the tight gas reservoir systemsof Saudi Arabia.
