Assignment: Essay Question
NAME: KAREN KONG CHAI Ni
STUDENT ID: 0315480
Question: In some countries young people have little leisure time and are under a lot
of pressure to work hard in their studies. What do you think are the causes and
effects of this condition? Plan your response, and then write a cause and effect
essay.
Cause and effect of work hard studies until late
Nowadays, many young people are lack of free time for their leisure
activities in some countries. Students are work hard in their studies. As we know,
the level of education in some country is become higher and higher. Learning is
become more difficult for the students. Students have to work harder to catch up the
course. This cause the student study under a lot of pressure that come from
teacher, parents and themselves. Student just only can focus on studies to achieve
the target and the high expectation of the parents and teachers. This cause the
students have little spare time and focus on studying as well like working. At here,
there have some causes for this condition.
Firstly, some countries have a very heavy education system (IELTS
Writing 2011). Students have to stay at the school for eight hour per day. Some
countries also tend to have an extra tutorial class for the students. Students forced
to be attend the tutorial class. So, students have to stay at school for 11 hours per
day. This will make the students very tired. After coming back from school, students
got a lot of assignment have to submit in the day after that. This make the students
don’t have time to have own activities or for a rest. Besides that, students also
forced to attend the sport or dance school. This cause the mental of student hard
work at school again which means it makes them to tired physically also with no time
left in hand. For this reason, there will be many pressure come from studies and
school activities act on the students.
Secondly, some parents have force their children study when coming
back from school. They don’t let them to have a time for rest or play to relax. Some
parents also busy to pursue their children towards the tuition class or part time
courses after the school timing (IELTS Writing 2011). This will directly affects the
youth achievements and they have to work very hard to meet all the given goals from
the various fields like academic and extracurricular activities. Besides that, parents
never try to understand what the young people thinking now. Parents force their kids
to study, which they consider the best for their children (Essay Forum 2013).
Parents should ask for what the young wants, instead of pushing them. If they are
interested in something, they will be diligent. Parents should support and give
advice to their kids.
For this condition, there also have some effects. The effect of this
problem is student will lack of sleep because of the poor time management.
Students cannot arrange the time properly between the studies and leisure time.
Students are almost used the sleeping time to finish the work as they want to get
high distinction. Students who always sleep late will cause the health problem such
as high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease and a lot more. Lack of sleep will
also destroy the physical looks of the student. The students who always sleep late
also will act slow reaction. Besides that, students may trapped into the criminal
activities such as robbery, steal and many. The students relax their pressure
through this way. This also will destroy the life of the students.
In conclusion, young people should have a good time management
because late sleep will harm our body. Parents and teachers should change their
attitude to solve this problem. Students would be much better if they think other
ways, spend time on exploring world. They should not waste the most beautiful time
of their life, and regret it later. Students should come to life for having leisure,
deserving success and enjoying the results of hard work they have done. Pressure
would affects the mind, body and behavior in many ways and everyone experiences
pressure differently.
