BERTHELSON Summer 2009 Jasmine and Aunt Jessica at Big Bear Lake Girl’s CampJasmine and Bret went to their annual Journey concert together.Bret even took Jasmine to the outlets for a bit of back to schoolshopping (see side pic). Then he left Jasmine with Uncle Hal and Aunt Shela at their littlehouse at Big Bear Girl s Camp. It was the week that Jessica andher girls were going to be at camp. Jasmine got to hang out withthe girls, help Uncle Hal paint, read with Aunt Shela and hike withAunt Jess! She had a blast. What a great way to end her summer! While Karen “played” and worked over the weekend in Chicago and the Midwest.....Bret took the kids to California for a fun weekend at the beach. Aunt Trina had her birthday party right on the beach and the kids had a great time. [1]

  5. 5. DID YOU KNOW THAT BRET RETIRED?HE SPENT 16 YEARS WORKING FOR FARMERS AND HE OFFICIALLY HAD HIS LAST DAY ON AUGUST 3RD! THESE PICS ARE FROM HE AND ALEX CLEANING OUT HIS OFFICE. WAS HE SAD TO LEAVE? NOPE!IS HE HAPPY TO BE HOME DOING DISHES, LAUNDRY AND HANGING WITH THE KIDS? YUP! [5]
  6. 6. EAGLES Bret and Karen took a weekend trip to California while the kids BASEBALL, SOFTBALL AND BASKETBALL were at Youth Conference. Below is Bret with Cambria and Hunter. Alex’s 15th birthdayKaren took a quick trip out to Utah for Kelly’sgraduation and for a cousin’s weekend and ofcourse to see her brothers and..... cute nieces [6]
  7. 7. July 17th is Mom and Dad’s wedding anniversary. It would have been 45 years for them! I did a small tribute to them on FB but here are some of my favs of the two of them! What a blessing to be raised by such a great set of parents. If you want some laughs, don’t forget to check out Karen’s food blog. www.thekitchenofk.blogspot.comBASKETBALL -EVERY DAY! I brought home shrimp straight from the gulf coast at the beginning of the summer. We had a shrimp boil with the help of my Louisiana friends and the “rolling boil”! [7]
