  • 1. Karaghiozis 9th Primary school of Larissa 8-11-2013
  • 2. Karagiozis or Karaghiozis (Modern Greek: Καραγκιόζης, Turkish: Karagöz) is a shadow puppet and fictional character of Greek folklore, descending from the Turkish shadow puppet Karagöz and Hacivat.
  • 3. He is the main character of the tales narrated in the Turkish and Greek shadow-puppet theatre.
  • 4. Karagiozis is a poor hunchbacked Greek, his right hand is always long, his clothes are ragged and patched, and his feet are always bare.
  • 5. He lives in a poor cottage (Greek: παράγκα) with his wife Aglaia and his three sons, during the times of the Ottoman Empire. In the scene his cottage is on the left and the Sultan's Palace (Sarayi) on the right.
  • 6. Because of his poverty, Karagiozis uses mischievous and crude ways to find money and feed his family.
  • 7. On Friday, November 8 we watched a Karaghiozis performance in our school
  • 8. setting the scenery
  • 9. the audience is very excited
  • 10. What a surprise! One of our students participates in the performance!!!
  • 11. Everybody likes Karagiozis! We laughed a lot and just had a great time!!!
