  • 2. High blood pressure (HBP) or hypertension means high pressure (tension) in the arteries .
    • increases chance (or risk)for getting heart disease
    • or kidney disease
    • Or a stroke
    • heart failure
    • blindness

  • 4. Hypertention/high blood pressure is a silence killer. Check your pressure now!
    • 120/80 normal
    • 139/89 or below:
    • Pre-hypertension
    • 140/90 or higher:
    • Hypertension
  • 5. There are 2 types of high blood pressure.
    • Essential- stress, visceral obesity, potassium deficiency (hypokalemia), salt (sodium) sensitivity,alcohol intake,vitamin D deficiency aging and genetic mutations.
    • Secondary-kidney disease, obesity/metabolic disorder
  • 6. Why must we?
    • It is especially dangerous because it often has no warning signs or symptoms
    • Regardless of race, age, or gender, anyone can develop high blood pressure
  • 7. Once high blood pressure develops, it usually lasts a LIFETIME. You can prevent and control high blood pressure by taking action.

  • 8. Prevention.
    • Avoid of eating Salted eggs, salted fish, pickled fruit and seasoning cubes
  • 9.
    • Regular exercising
    • Reducing dietary
    • sugar intake
  • 10.
    • Consuming DASH-fruits and vegetables
    • Discontinuing tobacco use
    • and alcohol consumption
  • 11.
    • Reducing stress
    • Have a good lifestyle
