I often used a powerpoint presentation on “Musik Montags” for the students to learn about popular German bands.

Skype
Since, the 8 th graders are learning about German “pop” culture, I used Skype to call a friend in Germany, so the students could ask questions. I think the students really enjoyed this experience.

Neok12
I used this tool in the math class I am teaching. I found many great videos for the students to watch. I have math right after lunch, and with the weather getting nicer the students need something to bring them back into the learning process after being outside. The students find this to be helpful and I get their attention better.

Quizlet
I used this to help my 7 th grade German students review for a test. I will probably use some aspects of it again to help me prepare the 8 th graders for their test coming up.

Smartboard
In German, I have access to a Smartboard. I use it almost daily for the students to play games or to take notes. The only downside to a Smartboard is that students can only write answers one at a time, whereas on a whiteboard, more students can write, so less time is used up.

Summary
Being exposed to so much technology has been a great experience. The students are more engaged in the learning process and using technology is reaching more learning styles. I am being more comfortable with using technology in the classroom and am excited to continue to investigate other forms of technology to incorporate in my classroom.
