    1. ! ! ! ! ! ! /012,$3.$45&60&$ Kevin A. Carter is a Senior Consultant with MDB Group, Inc. Mr. Carter has over 15 years of executive experience in the area of diversity, inclusion and community involvement, most recently serving as the General Manager of Diversity and Inclusion – Americas for BP, Plc, one of the world’s largest global companies. Mr. Carter applies a strategic business perspective to his diversity and inclusion work, focusing on achieving meaningful business results. He has led diversity initiatives for organizations with 1,600 to 98,000 employees in various industries and market segments using a fact-based, data-driven approach coupled with deliberate relationship building. At BP, his efforts received favorable recognition as part of an external, third-party D&I assurance review. In a civic capacity, Mr. Carter has served as the Bureau Chief of the Rainbow/PUSH Coalition Ninth Street Project promoting diversity and inclusion as a driver of shareholder value and Chairman of the following organizations: Kaleidoscope Magazine to foster the recognition and advancement of minority talent; The College Fund Northern Ohio Telethon to increase scholarships for students at Historically Black Colleges and Universities and the National Association of Securities Professionals Pension Fund Conference to aid in the growth of the nation's minority and women brokers, asset managers, public finance consultants, investment bankers, investors, plan sponsors and other finance professionals. Prior to working for BP, Plc, Mr. Carter served as the VP, Diversity, Inclusion and Culture for Safeco Insurance Company. He defined and executed diversity and related culture strategies enterprise-wide. The team pioneered the Inclusion Index from the employee opinion survey to identify negative variances in the employee life-cycle. He led the work to create Safeco’s “Valuing Diversity” universal competency, including D&I behavioral indicators within the performance management system, and deployed diversity education achieving over 95% company-wide participation and effectiveness ratings exceeding 87%. Mr. Carter is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and Leadership Cleveland; was a founding member of the Securities Industry Association’s Diversity Committee and the Consortium of African American Organizations; has been recognized as one of Diversity MBA Magazine’s Top 100 Executives Under 50 and the Crain’s Cleveland 40 under 40 Club. He received fellowships from the German Marshall Memorial Fund and Alfred P. Sloan Foundation. He is also a recipient of the NBMBAA H. Naylor Fitzhugh Award of Excellence. Mr. Carter holds a BA, Cum Laude in Philosophy and Public Affairs from Vanderbilt University and an MBA in Finance from the Case Western Reserve University Weatherhead School of Management. He is a certified administrator of the Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI), a validated culture-neutral instrument that measures an individual’s level of cultural competence. Mr. Carter has received a YSC assessment rating at the executive level or above, completed Six Sigma Green Belt education, obtained Series 6,7 and Health, Life and Annuity licensing and volunteered as a National Association of Securities Dealers arbitrator.
