  • To Start
    • Lion vs. the Gazelle
    • Friends, every morning in Africa a gazelle wakes up and knows that it must run faster than the fastest lion or it will be killed and eaten.
    • Also every morning in Africa a lion wakes up and knows that it must outrun the slowest gazelle or it will starve to death. It doesn't matter whether you are a lion or a gazelle, when the sun comes up you'd better be running! -Willie Jolley
  • What is our goal?
    • We need to find new ways to communicate, to educate and to create learning inside and outside of our classrooms.
    • Blogs simply provide that system.
  • What is my purpose?
    • I added the title of Jeff Jarvis’ book for this reason.
    • WE will be completely replaced unless we adapt and change.
    • You have by know tried and perhaps maintain a wiki. Why should you look at something else?
  • The Archetype.
    • It is interesting that Apple figured out that it would set up exclusive agreements in place to establish the MAC as the educational platform.
    • We are still dealing with that structure.
    • Google is way bigger than Wikipedia.
    • It has a notion of Googlejuice.
  • What is google juice?
    • This is the distributed model where the quest and the search for truth by use of our mental algorithms creates meaning?

  • TPCK Model Why should we go to this distributed model There is a model that helps us think about how to develop technological pedagogical content knowledge.   • Our goal should be to develop as learners.
    • We need to get our learners to be responsible for learning and be able to critically analyze materials and bridge that digital fortress that they need to be able to break to be competitive in the new world.
