Cloud Computing

  1. 1. Cloud Computing…………... Arghya Datta Rittwik Ghorai Tanmoy Basak Arijit Tapadar
  2. 2. What Is Cloud Computing:- Technology that uses the internet and central remote servers to maintain data and applications. allows consumers and businesses to use applications without installation and access their personal files at any computer with internet access. This technology allows for much more efficient computing by centralizing storage, memory, processing and bandwidth.
  3. 3. Example of CloudComputing:-
  4. 4. Characteristics:- Autonomic computing Client–server model Grid computing Mainframe computer Utility computing Peer-to-peer
  5. 5. Classification of Cloud on thebasis of service provided
  6. 6. Software as a service(SaaS) This is the most common form of cloud computing which we see in action. It is a complete software offering on the cloud. They are accessed by the customers on pay per use basis. Example:- Gmail , Hotmail etc
  7. 7. Platform as a service(PaaS) The consumer creates the software using tools and libraries from the provider. The consumer also controls software deployment and configuration settings. The provider provides the networks, servers and storage . Example:- Wavemaker,Longjump etc
  8. 8. Infrastructure as a service(IaaS) Hardware related services are provided using the principles of Cloud Computing. These include disk storage and virtual servers. Amazon EC2, Amazon S3, Rackspace Cloud Servers are some of the leading vendors.
  9. 9. Cloud Computingclassified basis of location Public Cloud Private Cloud Hybrid Cloud Community Cloud
  10. 10. Public CloudComputing infrastructure ishosted at the vendor’spremises. The customer hasno visibility over the location ofthe cloud computinginfrastructure. The computinginfrastructure is sharedbetween organizations.
  11. 11. Private Cloud Computing architectu re is dedicated to the customer and is not shared with other organisations.Private clouds may be externally hosted ones as well as in premise hosted clouds.
  12. 12. Hybrid CloudOrganisations hostsome critical, secureapplications in privateclouds. The not socritical applications arehosted in the publiccloud. The combinationis known as HybridCloud.
  13. 13. Community Cloud The cloud infrastructure i s shared between the organizations of the same community.
  14. 14. Cloud Computing Types:-
  15. 15. Advantages:- Reliability Scalability Performance Security Maintenance Virtualization Multi-tenancy
  16. 16. Disadvantages:- Security & Privacy Dependency (loss of control) Cost Decreased flexibility Knowledge And Integration
  17. 17. Thank You
