  • Why will the same search on different search engines produce different results?
    • The answer is because not all indices are going to be exactly the same . It depends on what the spiders find or what the humans submitted . But more important, not every search engine uses the same algorithm to search through the indices .

    • A multi-step continual process includes designing, developing, and optimizing a website to improve its rank in search engines ( Churchill , 2007)
    • T he process of trying to rank highly a given web page or domain for specific keywords ( Evans , 2007)
    • An active practice of optimizing a web site by improving internal and external aspects in order to increase the traffic the site receives from search engines (Beal, 2006)
  • How search engine optimization works?
    • As search engine optimization, SEO, is creating a website in a way that it will appear higher in the search rankings . SEO is aimed at achieving the highest position in the natural listings on the search engine results pages . SEO is very useful for driving visitors through targeting the high volume, low intent generic phrases . To do this you need to define a list of key phrases to work with . A website that’s optimized for search engines can reap huge benefits on to the website and ultimately the core business . A key benefit of SEO is that it is relatively cost - effective since there is no payment to the search engine for being placed there.

  • What are the important factors for high ranking websites?
    • Fast Uploading WebSites – Frequent use of images in a web page will result in greater loading time . An alternate text called “Alt Tag” must be added on the images .
    • Content Rich Websites – Search engines prefers websites text based rich in content. Spider crawling to your website must find valuable and informative text with k eywords relevant to the content of the web page.
    • Easy Navigation – The websites must be user - friendly by adding easy navigation links . Broken links or dead links must be avoided .
    • Updating Regularly – The websites must be updated frequently by adding informative content for the users.
    • Link Popularity – Link popularity is one of the factors for page ranking . Search engines check for both quantity and quality of links exchanged .

    • SEO is not a product, despite the fact that it is sold as a product across the web . It is a service, which must be custom tailored to fit the needs of each business .
