1.Make up your mind … • Purpose : Why are we together ? What will be different because we’ve come together ? • Ground rules : How will our Community make decision ? How will we resolve conflicts ? What are the acceptable & unacceptable levels of involvement ? • Tasks : What are the tasks we need to accomplish to fulfill our purpose ? What processes will we follow to solve problems and fulfill our purpose? • Boundaries : What kind of decision do & dont need approval ? Whose approal, commitment or buy-in will we need ? Who do we serve ? Who is our « customer » ? What are their requirements ? •

1. Really, Make it Clear… • Use of Tools : How do we plan to use the current corporate tools ? What new tools do we need ? • Completion dates : When do we need to complete this « project » ? How we will know we’ve completed it ? What are our short term target dates ? How often we will review and update the dates ? • Budget : What budget needs we might be anticipate ? How will we estimate budget needs ?

Find the right Sponsors & Leaders ... … And take care of their motivations Sponsors Leaders • High enough in the • Already true Leaders management chain • With good « track records » • Influential but not too visible • And good relationships with • Able to « break the rules » the Corp • Ready to take some risks

3. Make it Real ! • Communicate by all means • Corporate website, mailing lists, other Community Leaders, Call your friends ! • Get into action ! • Concrete initiatives, Projects • Feed the community (not the troll) daily • Make it clear • Create a sound, easy to read charter • Align with the Corporate Strategy (the best you can)

4. Settle in the Corposphere • Be present, be visible, be THE SPOK • Create a Playground : a dedicated safe free place where you can fulfill your motivations • Provide the tools to create & harvest value • Create Rituals
