      • A seasonal wildfire abruptly changed direction and transformed into a 6-km wall of flame 50 m high.
      • It gave off energy equivalent to an atomic explosion every 30 minutes.

      • Elaine ended up saving her cat and dog, the lamp her husband once used as a miner, her jewelry (but not his) and a little plastic Buddha.

      • business is the Spray Lake Sawmills. They have a 28% quota of the annual allowable salvage rights in the area and will salvage the lumber they can.
      • Ecological pros and cons:
      • Cons Pros
        • Area is black and looks devoid of life. Over time burned area creates diversity that was not there before.
        • The loss of forest seems like the loss of an A burned area creates ecological diversity and allows for the ecosystem. development of undergrowth that was not there before.
