● Static Meshes are models imported from a content creation package such as 3DSMax orMaya.● Static Meshes use light maps to bake in shadow maps created from Lightmass.● Static Meshes are fast as they are cached once in video memory.● Static Meshes normally can't animate, but you can use materials to perform vertex animation on them.
● Lighting is added into the world via directionallights, point lights, spot lights and sky lights.● Lights can be colored, dim or very bright.● Directional lights and spot lights can be rotatedto give the light a direction.● Masked and translucent materials cast shadows correctly.● Lightmass bakes static lighting and global illumination into the world● Change Lightmass settings to change lightingtimes.
