    • HIGH-IQ NETWORKS On any given day, we wear a number of hats—parent, businessperson, distance learner, etc. TODAY TOMORROW Networks today assume a one-size-fits-all approach. Individuals and companies are forced to guess the amount of bandwidth and policies they need and are subsequently locked into long-term contracts. The end result? Limited service packages that are fixed to accommodate the ‘worst case.’ Complexity for individuals and frustration for service providers as they aren’t able to deliver new services quickly or cost-effectively. The network of tomorrow will recognize the multiple hats individuals wear on a daily basis and will be agile enough to respond. Businessperson, distance learner, parent. A high-IQ network is tailored, agile and can recognize these personas and deliver custom enhancements without the individual having to do a thing. STUDENT Bandwidth & Policy: One-size-fits-all, statically applied for all traffic 24x7 Bandwidth & Policy: Medium Prioritizes: class VoD, collaboration apps, lab connectivity  All others best effort (including other types of video e.g. entertainment) Network Functions: Wide Area Acceleration, Load balancing Billing: Education establishment as part of fees Prioritizes: By traffic type not by application: e.g. All video (high), All voice (medium), All other data (low) Network Functions: One-size-fits-all, statically applied for all traffic 24x7 HOME USER Bandwidth & Policy: Low Prioritizes: Web access, video streaming, gaming  Upgrade as requested: Video surveillance Network Functions: Video quality monitoring, IPv6 translation Billing: Individual Billing: To individual BUSINESS Bandwidth & Policy: High Prioritizes: VoIP, video conferencing, office collaboration and cloud apps  All others best effort (including other types of video e.g. Entertainment) Network Functions: Wide Area Acceleration, DDoS security, Firewall, Video quality monitoring, IPv6 translation, Traffic flow analytics Billing: Employer UNDERLYING NETWORK: Today’s network is far too complex and rigid to adapt on the fly to an end-user’s needs. Technology solutions today yield a static and uninformative offering. The required manual network-hardware tweaks to provide real-time adaptive services can take months to complete. By then, it’s too late. UNDERLYING NETWORK: The network of tomorrow is a blend of physical and virtual (i.e. Silicon + Junos + SDN). Intelligent analytics can identify enhancements to improve quality and security of applications and offer these to the user. The network is automated and programmable to allow for complete flexibility and rapid service customization in minutes vs. months.
