What is ICT?
The term, information and communication technologies (ICT), refers to forms of technology that are used to transmit, store, create, display, share or exchange information by electronic means. This broad definition of ICT includes such technologies as radio, television, video, DVD, telephone (both fixed line and mobile phones), satellite systems, computer and network hardware and software; as well as the equipment and services associated with these technologies, such as videoconferencing, e-mail and blogs.
What is IT?
Information technology (IT) is "the study, design, development, implementation, support or management of computer-based information systems, particularly software applications and computer hardware", according to the Information Technology Association of America(ITAA).
Computer Hardware
How to configure hardware in schools
How to network computers
What hardware?
Computer Software
Operating system software
Apple computer systems:
• Apple’s own network operating system • Linux
For Intel-based computers:
• Microsoft NT• Novel Netware• Linux
Open source
Open Source is the most accessible and free of all, as it permits copies of the original source, so that anyone can use it and can contribute to its binary format.
Basic computer application software
Educational software
Internet-related and delivered software
