  • Education creates the foundation for the future of our society  Teachers have come under increasing pressure to be more effective and accountable in regards to student performance and progress. Student performance only measured via standardized tests, which are not accurate or effective. Technology adoption is limited and does not properly support teachers: Curriculum management Administrative functions Basic collaboration tools Limited online resources with lesson plans.
  • How can collaboration help teachers address these two areas? Provide teachers with access to communities of peers and mentors who can provide day-to-day support and long-term career guidance. Enable teachers and administrators to collaborate on development of portfolios that accurately capture and communicate assessments of each student’s performance.
  • Background Over 920 million tourists  traveled the world in 2008.   Important industry for many cities across the world.   Tourists are looking for more unique experiences that are tailored to their specific interests graffiti in Sao Paulo record shops in Tokyo chocolates in Barcelona    Problem Traditional tour guides Mainstream content focused on history, shopping, lodging Not a good source of information on current mindset of city residents   Social content is functional No storytelling aspects provided to tourists Limited to review of restaurants, hotels and bars. Sites like dopplr feature content from tour guides
