What does ‘events’ mean in the context of the big picture?
As a component of the curriculum in the big picture, events are activities that provide significant learning opportunities, either planned or
unplanned. Events include regular school-based activities such as sports days, productions and concerts, and community events and activities
that involve people or places outside the school.
What maximises the impact of events on learning? We have found that:

such as school sports days, productions and concerts.
0 Events like these often have the greatest long—term impact on learners when they are
performed to an audience of visitors from outside the school.

social issues and broaden horizons.
