    • To add integers, simply sing this song to the tune of Row, Row, Row, Your Boat:
    Same signs add and keep Different signs subtract Take the sign of the higher number Then you’ll be exact!

    • Simplify -32 + 41
  • 6. How do I Add Integers? The Song Method
    • Simplify -32 + 41
    • 1.) Ask yourself: “Same sign or different sign?”
    • - These are different signs
  • 7. How do I Add Integers? The Song Method
    • Simplify -32 + 41
    • 2.) Ask yourself: “Do you add or subtract?”
    • - Since they are different signs, you subtract
    • Different signs subtract
  • 8. How do I Add Integers? The Song Method
    • Simplify -32 + 41
    • 3.) Ask yourself, “Is my answer going to be positive or negative?”
    • - 41 is the higher number, so your answer is positive
    • Take the sign of the higher number
    • Then you’ll be exact!
